Dear DKE Nu Zeta Brother, Greetings from your alumni association!
We're writing to give you an update on how things are
going for the alumni association and about the great
events we have planned for 2003.
Countdown to the 20th Anniversary...
With the anniversary only some 60 days away, all of
the hard work and planning will soon come to an end
and the celebrating will begin!
The DKE Nu Zeta 20th Anniversary Celebration will take
place on Saturday evening, April 26th at the prestigious
facilities of the DKE Club in midtown Manhattan.
Invitations are being printed as we send this email and
will be mailed to you in March.
The anniversary planning committee has put in lots of
time and effort to ensure a great evening for all. I'd like
to especially thank Dan Ocasio & Brendan Kenefick for
all their work and time they have put into planning this
event.
For those of you that will be in town on Friday, April
25th, we're planning a Pre-Anniversary Bash at a time
and place soon to be determined. Details about this
event will be included along with the anniversary
invitation. We're counting on seeing you!

2003 Annual Dues Campaign Kick Off |
 |
We recently mailed to all of our brothers the annual
appeal for dues. This yearly call for financial support is
important for the survival of the alumni association.
Each year we get responses from between 20% and
30% of the total number of alumni brothers. We hope
that this year we'll be able to break a response record!
We'd like to thank those brothers that have sent in
their dues either through the mail or via the website
electronically. A special thanks goes to those brothers
that have given more. The association owes all of you
lots of thanks.
If you haven't yet responded, but would like to, we
encourage you to use our online payment system that
accepts American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and
Discover Card. This secure payment system is operated
by Paypal.

Called to duty... |
 |
JJ Leonard recently emailed to tell us that he has been
called to duty and will be heading to the Middle
East.
JJ is a very active supporter of our alumni association.
We ask that you keep JJ in your prayers as he serves
our nation and that he returns safely in time for the
20th Anniversary.

Get those basketball jerseys ready! |
 |
This May, we're bringing back the Alumni vs. Actives
Hoops Game & BBQ...
We'll start the day off at Pace P'ville for that basketball
game where the alumni take on the actives. (We hope
to book this year's game at Pace's newly built athletic
center.)
Following the game, we'll make our way over to Surfside
for a classic DKE style BBQ. There will be plenty of food
and drink. And of course, it wouldn't be a DKE event
without the Beer Pong table. (RJ, you're in charge of
this!)
Details will be sent out in April. We hope to see you all
at this fun filled event!

Do you have your paddles? We're going rafting! |
 |
As you've probably finished shoveling from the recent
blizzard, here's a little something to look forward to.
A "Dekes on the Delaware" trip is being planned for this
summer. If you've never been on a Deke rafting trip, its
quite an experience!
All of those that attended the last "Dekes on the
Delaware" trip can tell you about what a great time it
was. The highlight of all was when we all
witnessed our founding fathers stun the crowd by cliff
diving naked. Of course, if you didn't know already, this
is a "Dekes on the Delaware" tradition.
Hopefully, Bags will get there on time this year so that
he can join us, rather than him driving up while we are
already halfway downstream.

Practice your golfing skills! |
 |
The DKE Nu Zeta Open will be held this year on July
26th at the Farmstead Country Club in Lafayette, New
Jersey.
The annual tradition is a great way for everyone to get
together and help contribute to the Juvenile Diabetes
Foundation in memory of Nu Zeta brother Greg
Shrekgast. $10 of each person's golf fee goes towards
this good cause.
The day is made up of 18 holes of golf along with lunch
and then followed by a full buffet dinner with an awards
ceremony and lots of prizes raffled.
We look forward to seeing you and your friends & family
attend this highly successful event!
